Physical Education

Building Character Through Sports and Fitness

At St. Francis, our program aims to enrich our students with the importance of good sportsmanship, teamwork, and effort,  in order to be successful in P.E. and extracurricular sports.

Our PE program follows the South Carolina State Standards for Physical Education. We teach a variety of units to help foster a life-long love for fitness. Some of our units include, Basketball, Running, Hockey, Obstacle Course, Teamwork and Collaboration, Relay Races, Soccer, Volleyball, Dance, foundational fitness, and strength training.

St. Francis students enjoy a state of the art gym and equipment, which has allowed us to offer such an expansive P.E. program; as well as share our events with family and community.

In December, our school hosts the Reindeer Run which brings our school community together to celebrate fitness and family. Leading up to the event, students prepare by conditioning in P.E. to ensure they are ready for the run. Our Middle Schoolers also participate in House Competitions showcasing athletics. On a daily basis, students have a chance to be MVP (sportsmanship, teamwork, and effort) of PE class, and we always offer a prayer of thanks for our abilities and blessings.
